Great idea, however, it comes out very slowly. You have to suck out each sip and even then it isn't very fast. I found out that you can hold down the rubber tab on the top while sucking the water to have it come out faster.

Yeah, I thought that review title might get your attention. The Klean Kanteen bottles are great-- even better with this sport cap BUT the whistling is very annoying. Here's how to get rid of that whistle. Look inside the cap. You'll see a little opaque white rubber stop (it appears as a white dot from the top of the cap). Pull the stop out and insert it into the top, from the top. No leaks, no whistling, and the flow is perfect.

I really liked the convenience this product, despite the fact that it sounded like a bird every time I took a drink. But I was extremely gassy whenever I used it because of all of the air that I would ingest along with my water. Now I use the cap that my kanteen came with, and I stay gas-free. :)

I bought two 40 oz. Kleen Kanteen Stainless Steel Water bottles for myself after reading about the dangers of certain chemicals in plastic water bottles. I'm glad to say that I'm very pleased with my choice. Though other companies manufacture similar bottles I find the simple design of the Kleen Kanteen is what I like best. It's a stainless steel bottle with a plastic screw-on cap (that doesn't come in contact with the water inside). There is no liner to worry about, cleaning is a breeze and the bottles are made from stainless steel so no worries of corrosion.



That being said, if you want a bottle to keep your drinks chilled or hot for extended periods look elsewhere. This bottle is a single layer of steel and offers no real insulation. Chilled water will make the bottle sweat and hot drinks will heat the metal.



If you're looking for a safe, no nonsense water bottle and don't mind a little moisture on the outside of the bottle then look no further!



One thing to consider is that the thin metal will dent if dropped. I've dropped my bottles a few times and have dented them or scratched the paint on my way home from the gym. If I had to buy these bottles again I would do so with an unpainted stainless finish.

First of all, this is my 4th water bottle. I don't collect them or anything but I have gone through alot. 3 of those were given up to the surge of BPA information. I had the Nalgen then the Sigg. Sigg just recently had their liner issue that made it such a surprising let down. Anyways, Klean Kanteens are stainless steel and it shows in it's weight. THese are heavier than the comparable nalgen bottles and sigg bottles. However the water tastes clean and odorless which is always reassuring. I'd say the other great aspect of these bottles is the large mouth. It allows for easy refills at fountains at restaurants and the ability to put in ice cubes. I don't know about you but I want my water ice cold. I want my heart to stop from the shock sometimes and this bottle allows me to do that. The only issue that was expected but still sucks is that it is single walled so the bottle sweats or condenses when something is super cold in there. other than that it's a great buy. The paint will chip if you bang it around but it will only give it the quality "used" look.

Being in health care I am always concerned about pollutants like BPA and other unknown chemicals which are associated with health hazard. My bottles arrive looking good, OOps I did not read carefully I got Poly Loop cap (an all plastic PP#5 which KK claims to be safe plastic).



Convinced that I need ALL stainless steel and no plastic, I was about to order Stainless steel caps at additional $7 or $8 per cap when I read an insert describing Care & Use by Klean Kanteen which reads;



"Klean Kanteens are dishwasher safe, we recommend NOT washing our Stainless CAPS in a dishwasher because it is possible for H2O to squeeze itself into the cap."

Reviews under the KK SS Caps have mentioned water entrapment problem, is this why KK choose to use term "H2O", in a well crafted statement?.



Are we not suppose to use these bottles to store H2O (water in plain English)or H2O based fluids?, Are steel caps not safe? I don't know.



My conclusion:

Prevent or delay Land Fill:Yes (5 stars)

I've had the 27oz for about a week now and I love it. I made sure to rinse it well before I started drinking from it. I don't know if I have less sensitivity as far as taste, but I didn't taste anything metallic. The sports cap (I don't believe it was the 2.0) was pretty good. I was skeptical about the sports cap after reading the reviews, but it did not leak at all for me. I made sure not too over tighten. A great buy for going green in the office.

I don't know about you but I want my water ice cold. I want my heart to stop from the shock sometimes and this bottle allows me to do that. The only issue that was expected but still sucks is that it is single walled so the bottle sweats or condenses when something is super cold in there. other than that it's a great buy. The paint will chip if you bang it around but it will only give it the quality "used" look.

I cannot believe the fact that this bottle is not leak proof. I bought it with sport cap 2.0 and it leaks.

Unbelievable! I would not recommend this product and will go back to SIGG.

I used the bottle one day before it began leaking at the bottom. It was never around anything that could puncture it and of course I no longer had the receipt. Expensive!
